División Francisco Ascaso covers with botanical collection inside, 1937

Exceptional lot of five covers sent from Apiés (Huesca), in the Aragon Front, to Mollet del Vallès (Barcelona), with rare División Francisco Ascaso marks. All with content.

What makes this lot exceptionall are the dried plants inside, picked up at the Front and preserved in the covers since 1937.

Among the samples there is wheat, thyme and rosemary, straight from 1937.

Some of the texts refer to the plants inside, as reproduced in one of the pictures: on the margin, the sender wrotte "T'envio una mica de farigola..." (I send you some thyme...)
