Alacuás Prison Camp was opened in July 1937 in the religious house of spiritual exercices La Purísima of this village in Valencia province, as a prison for high society right wing women. In July 1938 it was moved to Cehegín, and from that moment the prison was known as Casa de Reforma de Cehegín.
